Woven Tribes Midwifery practices The Midwives Model of Care which acknowledges the physiology of birth as it is experienced and embodied by the MotherBaby dyad, and safely sustained through the patience, presence and skill of the midwife. This person-centered care is founded on the premise that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are normal life processes which come forth free from fear and undisturbed in an atmosphere of safety, support, and respectful quietude.
Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) work in community with birthing families
Often referred to as Community Midwives, we are the category of midwives specifically educated, skilled, experienced and licensed to provide midwifery care for birth outside of the hospital setting.
You will be heard, held, and respected. The newborn, sentient being that it is, will be heard, held, and respected as well.
This paradigm of care centers sanctity, equity, and autonomy for birthing people.

My Story
JANIS GILDIN, CPM, LM | CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MIDWIFE
I am a licensed Certified Professional Midwife and a birth worker for over 40 years. My relationship with the natural world guides my way, teaching me to connect with the elements and generate my voice and actions from deep within, embodying the silence and stillness of presence.
With the heart, mind, and hands of a midwife, I step back with respect for the birth process to unfold, and step in with compassion, skill, and foresight when that unfolding requires assistance.
I acknowledge that providing culturally humble care is integral to creating a kind and loving birth space. I am grateful to serve all families in that light.
